Bill in RAF

Bill served in RAF during WWII. He worked in bomber command (102 Squadron, No 4 Groupe at Pocklington, Yorkshire) as ground crew servicing Halifax's and picked up lots of knowledge about aero engines.

He also took an active part in entertainment of the troops as stage crew.

It meant he met visiting acts such as Norman Evans
